November 28, 2022. “Uzbekistan Airways Technics” LLC (“UAT” LLC) has completed painting of Turkish Gulfstream GIV aircraft for “ACM AIR”.

Aircraft coloring, otherwise known as livery, is now an integral part of an aircraft's image. Why paint airplanes at all? It is a kind of identification of the aircraft, so as not to be confused and to identify whose airline the aircraft belongs to. The paint also protects the body of the aircraft from environmental damage, makes the surface smoother, thereby reducing friction against the air, and if the color is light, it reduces heating by reflecting sunlight.

ACM AIR airlines together with its specialists developed a new livery and for the execution of the idea came to the base of UAT Ltd.

At the first stage, the painting specialists wash the surface of the aircraft with pressurized water using a detergent composition.

After drying, the board is cleaned to the metal. This can be done in one of two ways (or both): by sandblasting or with a special liquid composition - a rinse. The last one cleans the airplane in 24 hours, eating away the old paint. During the flushing process, the old paint peels off and chunks are removed from the plane. The surface of the airplane is scrubbed to the metal.

Before applying primer, paint or varnish, the aircraft parts are wiped down and degreased. Tape all parts that should not be painted (windows, landing gear, antennas, engine parts, etc.).

Next, on a cleaned and degreased surface specialists apply etching primer, and then - chromate-free polyurethane primer.

Следующим этапом идет нанесение наклеек, трафаретной информации и регистрационных номеров.

After that, it's time to apply a base coat of paint. The paint specialists also apply the blue enamel markings. If you pay attention to the floor, you may notice puddles. This is a fight against dust by artificially raising the humidity.

The next step is the application of stickers, stencil information and registration numbers.

Once the livery is ready and all the stickers are in place, the final stage of painting follows - the application of a clear, which will create additional protection for the livery while the aircraft is in service.

The paint job is complete and the airplane is ready to take off.

That's how beauty comes in, which not only makes the aircraft recognizable and attractive, but also protects it from the outside environment and prolongs its service life.
