December 7, the international aviation community celebrates International Civil Aviation Day, International Civil Aviation Day. This tradition began on December 7, 1994, the date of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation in Chicago. The holiday was widely spread throughout the world; its purpose was to draw public attention to civil aviation.
On 12 November 1992, the Republic of Uzbekistan became a full member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), assuming the corresponding obligations.
Active participation of Uzbekistan in the ICAO provides an opportunity to influence the formation of the policy of this organization, taking into account the interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to protect and support decisions in which the civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan maintains the ability to freely conduct flights on international air routes.
Every five years, on ICAO's anniversary years (2014/2019/2024/2029/etc.), the Day takes place under a special theme. In the intervening years between anniversaries, the Council determines the theme for four years.
Until 2023, the theme of the Day is defined as "Promoting Innovation for Global Aviation Development.
It's hard to imagine the modern world without aviation. It is used practically in all spheres of our life: provides transportation of passengers, mail and cargo, medical assistance to the population, sanitary measures, search and rescue, emergency and disaster relief.
People working in civil aviation are characterized above all by high professionalism and the ability to bear great responsibility.
This holiday unites a lot of people around the world, who put a part of themselves into the development of civil aviation. The work of aviators is extremely honorable and responsible, it requires high professionalism, courage, the ability to make quick decisions.
